The question of “What should I do next?” occupies the mind of every
individual, regardless of whether they are already well-established and accomplished. Even successful people wonder what their next achievement should be. While some of us may act on the first idea that comes to mind, success is not always guaranteed, and
repeated failures can lead to loss of motivation and feelings of weariness. If you find yourself in this situation, I hope this article can help reinvigorate your mind and spirit, and steer you toward your goals.
When the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir launched an attack on
Judah, King Jehoshaphat was unsure about how to proceed. He had no battle plan to
defeat them, so he turned to GOD and admitted that he did not know what to do. With
his eyes fixed on GOD, he sought divine help to overcome the enemies.
O our GOD, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this
great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyesare upon thee.
(2 Chron. 20:12)
After that, he appointed singers to praise the Beauty of Holiness, leading the
army with songs of praise and exclaiming, “Praise the LORD, for His mercy endures
forever!”. And when they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushments against
the adversaries of Judah, and they were smitten. Despite not engaging in battle, Judah
emerged victorious in the war.
Those of us who find ourselves uncertain about what to do next can learn the path to
success by following in Jehoshaphat’s footsteps.
The Three Keys to Jehoshaphat’s Victory are:
- Acknowledging his own limitations
- Focusing on GOD
- Praising the beauty of Holiness
When we’ve tried hard but failed in life, we must realize that victory cannot be
achieved solely through our own strength. Secondly, it is important to confess our
situation to GOD, fix our gaze upon the LORD, and surrender ourselves completely to
His will. Finally, we should express gratitude and praise the LORD for the goodness He
has brought into our lives. If we follow these steps, the LORD will open doors for us that
no one can close, and He will elevate us beyond our limits, allowing us to taste the fruit
of victory forever. I hope you have gained some inspiration for your next move.
