In a world where hope can often seem lost, there is a powerful reminder that hope is alive and living in the students of Cornerstone Christian College Prep Day and High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. These students are not only being prepared to succeed academically, but also to reign in life, all for the glory of GOD.
Cornerstone Christian College Prep (C-Prep) was founded by Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, Indiana’s first African American Teacher of the Year and a recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Service. His vision has created a culture where excellence, faith, and possibility intersect to bring forth the full potential of each student, including students in elementary grades, kindergarten through fourth grade.

At C-Prep, K-4 students are as eager and full of enthusiasm to learn as the students in High School. Students in grades K-4 are taught the language of Possibleology®, the Science and study of Personal Possibleness in CHRIST. Through this foundation, C-Prep students embrace the C-Prep’s “I Am Possible®” culture, which teaches them that in Christ, they are Possible and they are loved by GOD.
Because of this, students are not afraid to learn. They are cultivated in an environment where standards are high and where they are taught that they can learn any knowledge placed before them. As Dr. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood teaches, students can learn anything until they are told they cannot.
At C-Prep, college does not begin at graduation; it begins in kindergarten. When K–4 students are asked, “Where are you going?” and “What are you being prepared for?” their response is, “I am going to college,” and “I am being prepped for college success.” When asked, “Who made you possible?” they boldly answer, “GOD made me possible.”
At such young ages, these students already understand that their possibilities are connected to their personal relationship with GOD. They are taught to speak with faith and confidence, as the Bible says, “call those things which are not as though they are.”

So, yes, C-Prep K-4 are going to college. They are taught that college is a place where they learn more knowledge and information to succeed in life and achieve in college. As Dr. Oscar Nelson Dowdell-Underwood often says, “The more you know, the further you can go.” Therefore, the more knowledge C-Prep students have, the more options they will have in life.
This vision has paved the way to divine opportunities. Even to the extent that, at their young ages before they are even in high school, as a result of a partnership between C-Prep and a prestigious Christian university in the Midwest. C-Prep students do not have to apply for admission. Instead, they are granted direct admission after graduating from high school.
So, “I am going to college, “I am being prepped for college success,” and “GOD made me possible” are more than mere words. They are words of affirmation that have become a mindset for C-Prep K-4 students that will guide them throughout academia, especially now.
This past third quarter alone, K–4 students completed 32 final exams, including 25 cumulative Liberal Arts for Kids final exams. Subjects included World Languages, Shakespeare for Kids, Marine Biology, Introduction to Robotics, Introduction to Engineering, Prepped for College Success, and Creative Technology, just to name a few.

Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, The Father of Possibleology® and Possibility Education Awareness, instills in his staff and students alike that children will learn anything until they are convinced they cannot. As a result, C-Prep maintains a high standard of academic excellence, rooted in the belief that all things, including people, are possible by the Grace of GOD.
Congratulations to all C-Prep students, parents, Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, and C-Prep professors for embracing your I Am Possibleness, which has caused you to excel in your academics, stand out in this world, and to make a global difference in the lives of others.
